Did Professor Raoult lie during his hearing before the commission of inquiry? The Scientific Council denounces infamous remarks.
For three hours before the commission of inquiry, he had multiplied the attacks. Professor Raoult is now accused of lying. On June 24, he affirmed that the mortality in intensive care was higher in the Ile-de-France hospitals of the AP-HP than in his city of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône). “Mortality in intensive care units here is 43%, with us it is 16% (…) care has taken a back seat”says the professor.
The statements of the Marseille doctor made Martin Hirsch, the director of the AP-HP, jump. In a letter addressed to the President of the National Assembly, he counterattacks: “We have no data that places the mortality in AP-HP resuscitation at 43%. These statements appear to amount to false testimony.” This 43% mortality rate is from a resuscitator network report but it was only a preliminary study.
